Eredivisie's leading scorer remains calm amidst interest: 'If I score, price goes up'. Tasos Douvikas is still uncertain about his future at FC Utrecht. The Greek striker scored twice in a friendly against Spanish side Espanyol on Saturday, but there are still plenty of interested clubs looking to snatch him away.
Douvikas, however, will continue to give his all for Utrecht until the end. "I really enjoy playing here," the Greek goal-getter tells RTV Utrecht. "I have a lot of self-confidence here." Douvikas has previously expressed his desire to take a step forward, but the transfer has not materialized yet. "I have to be professional about it. As long as I keep scoring, my price will go up."
If Douvikas does make a move, he has a preferred destination in mind. The striker hopes to play in the Premier League. "Of course, I want to play in that top league. But we'll see. I don't know which clubs are interested. I leave that to my agents. They will inform me if there is anything official." Last season, Douvikas shared the Eredivisie top scorer title with Xavi Simons, both scoring nineteen goals.
